This amethyst crystal as a very deep purple color. It is completely rough and has not been polished in any way. We received this crystal in a bag of rocks which came with a National geographic rock Tumbler. 
We concentrate on tumbling up Scottish rocks so there are a few international ones here which we need to get rid of to free up space. Best and the crystal is one of those. 
This amethyst crystal likely came from Brazil as that is where most commercial amethyst is from. We have no qualms that a National geographic crystal would be anything other than well sourced.
