Interlocking Calcite Crystal Specimen from Scotland

Interlocking Calcite Crystal Specimen from Scotland

Interlocking Calcite Crystal Specimen from Scotland

This is a large, self-standing piece that has come from the Southern Uplands of Scotland. It features large, dogtooth-esque calcite crystals that have some beautiful clarity to them. They are laying on their side and facing different directions to give this interlocking system. The material in between is unknown, although there is quartz druze underneath it all.

This is one for the mineral collectors. You will love the way the lines lie. We have seen similar samples labelled as stilbite, but we are more comfortable with the calcite identification. Make of it as you will: the price won’t change.

This is an interesting crystal specimen for sale that requires a serious collector.
