This piece of red rutile in smoky Quartz is from the Southern Highlands of Scotland. It features a cloudy grey and white quartz with a little mica scuff and some pronounced rutile crystals.
 
Rutile from Scotland is quite rare and we only find the odd piece of it. This piece is typical of the area, having that glassy red finish. It is actually an excellent specimen as you can see in the video.
