This is a partial Scottish quartz point from Dumfriesshire. It was picked up in 2021 during a gold panning trip. This one was on the hole, in the river. We find a few points now and then, but this was the first in a hole.

This partial quartz point has three nice faces and three smaller ones. The big point is largely intact. The second, smaller point is damaged. I still thought it was a cool piece.

Scotland is famous for mountain quartz and Cairngorm quartz, but this crystal is from the lowlands, near the Southern Uplands Way. It's a one off in yellow colouring. Not real citrine, probably iron stained, but very yellow.
