This is a really cool mix of crystals in one rock. The top is a group of smoky quartz which is growing on the amethyst crystals. You can see a marked delineation of where the two separate. 
These crystals are on a host rock which comes from an area rich in dolomite. I'm not sure of an id on that mineral.
This Scottish mineral specimen came from Dumfries and Galloway, down near Dalbeattie. Scottish amethyst takes a hike and a dig to reach, but it is worth it in the end.
Crystal healers will love this rock. The energy is amazing. I can't describe it other than to say it is hitting two chakra points at once, and one I'd the crown. Always good.
