This amethyst was an experiment. I had a couple of ugly chunks left from a trip to Dumfries and Galloway a couple of years back. I chucked them in the rock tumblee. They are pale purple but purple nonetheless.
This amethyst went through four grits and soaps in the rock tumbler. I photographed it next to the small quartz cluster so that you could see the purple better, then figured why not just sell them together. Wee cluster could use a scrub. It has only been scrubbed once since it came off the hill. It is from the same area give ir take twenty miles.
