This quartz crystal is displayed in a clear plastic gem pod with a foam cushioning. You can reuse it. We buy these from an auctioneer.

The crystal itself is a bit of a mystery. There are four or five of these floating around our crystal collection and every so often one shows up. This time I caught one and put it in a box.

We couldn't tell you where these came from. Consensus is that perhaps one of us bought them from a crystal shop but it would be more than five years ago, so memory does not serve.

Still a nice rock though.
