This amethyst really does have an exceptional polish. Someone has worked this sensationally. It is so smooth and satisfying to touch. I wish I was able to get this kind of a shine to my rocks. I reckon this was worked on a flat lapidary machine. It has all the angles needed to tell me that it wasn't done in a tumbler. It has been buffed into what we call a freeform shape, which is where the person who is buffing it lets the shape of the rock determine what shape the final polished crystal will be.
 
This was part of an old crystal collection I just bought off eBay. We are starting to sell preloved and secondhand crystals. Obviously we will be using the expert knowledge we have gained over the years of hunting for crystals to pass on what we know and make sure Stone Circle customers get the best crystals for the best prices. 
 
This one came to us from down south of the border. I kinda want to keep it but I am not going to. It is also quite a big piece in terms of tumblestones. It feels like they were going for a diamond shape.
 
I am not 100% sure but htis is probably Brazillian amethyst.
