This was a gift donated to TSC to try and find new homes for these previously loved crystals. These came with a note to say that they were not bought but gifted to the customer some 30+ years ago. Amazing. Actual vintage crystals!
 
These were sold as citrine but are not true citrine as made by nature. Rather, they started off as amethyst points and have been baked at high temperatures to force that purple into an orange-yellow colour. There's nothing really wrong with doing that, since natural citrine is very expensive and very rare. But purists don't like it.
 
The thing is, if these were subjected to greater heat when they were formed in the mountain, these crystals would have naturally turned into citrine anyway. That is why we get ametrine. So although it seems a little pushy, it is less that the crystal is man-made and more that it is man-finished. 
 
We have a smaller version of these medium sized citrine points in our shop if you want to scale down and lose the vintage element.
