This chunk of Smoky Quartz has come from the eastern Highlands of Scotland. It's a lovely chunk with some beautiful black clarity. It has some Muscovite scuff on the flip side, but that characteristic darkness on the front. This piece is a half nodule, which is how it grows in those mountains.

Scottish smokey quartz is often used in the pommel of Scottish daggers. You can learn more about it on our blog. This piece was brought back during one of many trips to the mountains. We are into the old stock now, so this is likely a 2019/20 piece.
