This stunning cluster of quartz crystals came from an area in South Lanarkshire known for a variety of minerals. This quartz crystal cluster is less than 20g in weight but it has defined points and one particularly large quartz crystal.

These are formed below the earth in cavities. Extensive mining in central Scotland brought some of this material closer to the surface. We sometimes find these in rivers, paths, and burns.

This piece came from a 2023 trip to a favourite spot better known for iron. It is a rare occasion to find a perfectly white cluster of Scottish crystals without any staining at all.
