This hand-sized, over 250g lump of rock is truly amazing. We don't like picking rocks this big normally, it's hard on the back and bad for the beasties, but we made an exception when we spotted that smiling face!

The smiling face wasn't even the best bit! When we flipped it over and saw the agate protruding from the rock it became even more amazing.

This Scottish agate in basalt is a crystal collector's dream, so it has been in the private collection since 2021. Its heavy weight also makes it a tricky post.

We have been wondering for all this time if the agate runs all the way through or not, so if you buy this Scottish mineral specimen for cutting or canning then please let us know!
