We recently came into possession of a UV light. We're not sure if it's long wave or shortwave. We quickly realised that multiple pieces of the calcite we collected from the Southern Uplands of Scotland turned out to react to uv light. They glow a nice pink colour when the light is applied.

The reactions vary in strength from piece to piece. This point was found a couple of months ago. There's a tiktok video of this one being picked. It's a sizable point, maybe 1.5 inches long. The pink glow is subtle but attractive.

It's worth mentioning that our rose calcite has a similar reaction. You can find it in our crystal shop for an affordable price.
