This is a fantastical piece of amygdaloidal Vesicular Basalt found in Angus, Scotland, on the fifth of July. It was the best find from my birthday rock hunting trip. 
This massive boulder is almost a kilo in weight. It has green and pink vesicles all over it in little dots which look like planets. This material therefore earns the name "galaxy stone". 
This piece has pink and green planets all over it and one giant bug filled with pink and white chalcedony in the centre. I see a band, you could call it an Agate. I would also happily call this chalcedony botryoidal, or bubbly. 
This Scottish mineral specimen will make a nice home decoration, doorstop, paperweight, or even make a focal and talking point in your crystal collection. 
There is a video of Kat finding this on Tiktok. She was complaining that it was a really big hill and there was no chance she could leave it behind. It was worth the backache. 
This Scottish rock would be awesome sliced up and face polished. It has the potential to make a lapidary artist very happy. Having hand polished this material in the past I know it is reasonably soft and takes about twenty minutes, start to finish. Much faster on a machine.
