Every so often we come across Chalcopyrite crystals so pronounced that it is worth picking up. The Southern Uplands area is teeming with Chalcopyrite crystals. Usually they are peppered through massive forms. This piece is unusual in that the crystals are perched on a bed of quartz Druzy.

This piece came out the clean up bucket which has been full since January 2021. This piece must have been picked since then. It's a nice sparkling quartz with good brassy Chalcopyrite, which is sort of like pyrite but has a slightly different composition.
