This Scottish mineral sample has banded chalcedony which resembles flint or chert. The stone has lovely whorls and patterns on the chert side.
The other side of this Scottish crystal has a patch of mossy chalcedony on the bottom. It would be interesting to cut it open but I tumbled it to a shine instead. Some stones are just too pretty to risk the cut.
