This piece was donated to us by a reader of the page and we are not sure about any other history really. It arrived inside it's own box, without any other rocks, and it is a very vibrant orange to red colour.

This carnelian is also an agate, since it displays banding AKA fortificaiton lines. It does appear to be exceptionally red for a carnelian. I do not think it has been dyed but it may have experienced exposure to heat to bring out the colour. They call this heat treating.

Fun fact: red tiger's eye only exists because of heat treating.

Anyway I washed it, dried it off with some lemon something or other incense, and it is now ready to be rehomed.
