This is or at least was a piece of amethyst or quartz druzy, which has been sprayed with iridescent metals. The intention is to make the crystal prettier, but also supposedly to add metaphysical value through introducing minerals which, if we are honest, were probably already present in minute quantities.
This looks like the Brazilian amethyst on Agate that they mine in large quantities. It has a lovely dark blue chalcedony line between the coated crystals and the green stabilisation cement. This is just the stuff they use to keep the outside of the geode from crumbling.
This crystal shines in gold, green, purple and yellow. It arrived with a donated crystal collection, which means that a portion of the sale will go to tree planting in Scotland. So far we have been doing this for one month and have already dedicated one sapling.
