These two pieces of flint are perfect for making bushcraft tools. They are good examples of the kind of chert/flint/chalcedony blend which we find in the western lowlands. It is a rich mixture which gives a nice edge if you strike it.
These two pieces are cool because they show the opposite ends of the colour spectrum of how we find this Scottish chert. On one hand, we have the blue tinted mineral with bubbles through it. In the other, we have the red tinged material that is close to carnelian.
