This piece of natural quartz crystal came from the Scottish Mountains up in Perthshire. This area produces amazing Smokey quartz and some of it has this lovely yellow colour to it.

Rather than being Citrine, the yellow comes from iron rich patches in the rock and soil. This piece was smashed in three when I found it and this is the last yellow quartz crystal of those three.

This material polishes into gorgeous freeforms. Ideal for lapidary artists.
