These peices of larvikite came from the bunch we found making up a path near the coast down in Dumfries and Galloway. We found lots of little chunks too, which I think I have already listed. These are not native stones to the UK but were brought here for their cheapness to shore up ocean defences.
These rough larvikite specimens have a slight blue flash to them here and there. The flash comes out better when they are wet. For this reason we tried to polish some of them. This took most of the flash away entirely. It turns out larvikite is a bit of a See You Next Tuesday to polish.
So here are the chunks. They are all over 25g.
