This piece of calcite crystal looks like it might be a calcite point but we wouldn't want to stake our reputation on it. The pointed part itself looks oddly like a piece of smoky quartz crystal, although it has an obvious calcite lustre. It is a sort of creamy and smoky piece of calcite. One of the faces has a lovely shine to it, even though it is not polished.

This rough rouck was found in the Southern hills of Scotland, down in the Dumfries and Galloway area. It has just been washed in soapy water, having been collected in a 2025 trip.
