This piece of smoky quartz crystal has a grey, cloudy feel to it. It was collected from a waterway halfway up a mountain in the Scottish Highlands, so it was pretty close to the sky. The greys always remind me of an overcast day in the mountains.
This area is on constructive plates, meaning it makes new rocks gradually as the plates push upwards. The greenish golden colour on these quartz chunks are a mica rich schist which the quartz emerges out in.
