This red agate heart has a fiery red to it but doesn't have the glow of carnelian. We would therefor guess that it has been heat treated to bring the red colour out more. This is the same method they use to turn golden tiger's eye into red tiger's eye. I say "they" meaning not us. This stone was heat treated before we got to it.
It is a lovely heart, bought from a collector of crystal hearts, ready to be rehomed for Valentine's Day. It has soft red bands on it, almost like the waves lapping an ocean. It is both red, deep red, and has white on it, too.
I do not have a location for it. I have seen similar agate from Morrocco. A little research shows me that they are calling these fire agate but we know what real fire agate is and it is not this. Weirdly, they go for up to £15 for a little one. This one is a chonker.
