Next on our list of pre-loved crystals comes this "Dragon's Egg" crystal. This is obviously a commercial term but it does define a whole genre of crystals so we should explain it.
Any crystal pebble can become a dragon's egg crystal. Usually these start as pretty pebbles with a clear or remarkable interior. The outer pebble looks waterworn or rough. One face only is polished. That single face is polished to a glass-like shine and acts as a perfect window into the inside of the stone. These can be any colour or type of stone, but this one is clear crystal quartz.
I thought this looked too good to be true so I tried to scratch it with a known piece of quartz. I could not scratch it, even on the face. This is bona fide.
This is our first dragon's egg and it came to us along with an auctioned off crystal collection. It has been washed, dried, and given a bath in nag champa incense.
Came back to the description to add that this looks like it is about to split in two but it is just a natural fracture. I tried to break it deliberately and it won't break. It probably would fracture there if you hit it with a hammer but I don't envision that in your plan for this crystal.
