We received a batch of minerals in a rock swap with a man who lives in Washington, USA, about two years ago now. You can follow the whole swap on TikTok but you might have to scroll back a bit. This piece of jasper is dark red to black and a lighter wine red. It has been one solid mass eons ago, then pressure has caused it to crack down the centre. The crack has filled with white mineralisation, either calcite or quartz. It doesn't really matter. What matters is that it is around the stone in an unbroken ring - which makes this a jasper wishing stone. And if you are feeling bad about your age, don't worry. This stone is older than the oldest of us by several million years... and it still looks good.

This was in the tumbler for a buff up but is mainly naturally polished. It is nice to have jasper from another country which isn't Scotland in stock for once. There is only one piece of it, so get it while you can.
