This piece of heavy barite is small but perfectly formed. It has a distinctive rippling pattern known as cockscomb because of that wavy shape.

This is a Scottish rock found down in the southern uplands at the tail end of last year when we found a new spot.

This rock could do with a concentrated clean up. I don't know how to handle it so I have left it be. It's had the worst of the dirt washed off.
