Now if you know the Stone Circle, you know that we don't buy wholesale. This is about as close as we get to it. We think it's still ethical but you might think otherwise - and that's OK.
We bought a 1kg bag of green labradorite in the rough and had it shipped here from Germany. We did this so that we could polish it ourselves. Now. There were 9 pieces of it which don't need polishing as they already display labradoresence (the shiny stuff). These pieces are those 9 rough bits. Watch the video to see them shine in different colours but they mainly display blues, greens, and a bit of yellow.
This is lovely material which we cannot wait to tumble. The only reason we bought it was because Katriona really, really wanted some to try and tumble. You might be able to follow the progress on the other green labradorite pieces which we will put in the rock tumbler, probably once this batch is done at the end of the month. Green labradorite would be a banging rock to tumble first in 2025. Follow TSC on Tiktok if you want to watch the progress.
When we went looking, we found that labradorite crystal in the rough is actually really rare. This was a nice wee treat and change of pace. We will return to Scottish rocks and second hand crystals directly.
These look best in sunlight. They look like grey rocks without light, if that makes sense.
