Flint Stone A.K.A. Chert
Flint stone is not just the name of a cartoon family, it is also the name of a variety of stone which is similar to chalcedony. Usually red or blue-hued when found in Scotland, it is the same material which ancient civilizations used to make tools. When you see arrowheads for sale in crystal shops, 9 times out of 10 they are made from chert/flint.
What is the difference between chert and flint? We don't think there is one. It is just two names for the same thing. Back in the day, naming newfound minerals was a free-for-all. There are many minerals out there that share a name - or that originally shared a name - as a result.
Our collection of flint is below. This is popular for use in bushcraft and survival skill training. Chip pieces off it to make your own arrowheads to sell back to us, if you like. That'd be neat. Anyway. Here is the flint.
