I have never had an attraction to apatite before and didn't know what this was until recently. I actually couldn't devide if it was perhaps amazonite due to that similar lustre. However, having picked some up in a shop and handled it, I am now a little more educated. I am about to get more educated because I don't actually know anything about this rock, so you and I are learning together.
For example, I just had to correct it from two 'p's to one 'p'.
These two pieces of apatite are available, I can't remember if they were in the same collection when they showed up or if they showed up separately. Either way they have gone through the crystal cleansing process and been dried in a smoky incense bath.
Apatite is a phosphate mineral which is largely present in your teeth and your bones. I believe these two pieces to be flourapatite given their lustre and colour. You can learn more about it in the mindat pages as we don't have an apatite page yet, gimme itme.
These chunks are a lovely kind of blue turquoise colour? I have never been good at blues and greens. This is somewhere in between. Both chunks have trace amounts of kind of clay like material, not sure what that is but it was also present on the apatite I saw the other day so it might be a normal thihng.
It's always tricky trying to identify recycled crystals!
