We have been finding these ferruginous or ferriferous quartz pebbles all over the place and we left them alone up until very recently. We have been on a quest to find rose quartz in Scotland, and we have been unsuccessful. the other week there we recieved a strawberry quartz love heart crystal carving and we realised that we didn't have rose, but we did have access to iron affected quartz.
The iron oxides create pink, red, black, purple, orange, and sometimes oddly green and yellow colours within the quartz pebbles. These can be absolutely stunning, especially when tumbled.
These are polished. For now there is only one. This is a case of I keep thinking I have made the listing and I have not. So here it is. I will add more of these in future as they emerge from the rock tumbler.
We find these in Ayrshire and in Lanarkshire.
