This little Scottish agate is small but mighty. Found in South Ayrshire, this is a banded agate aka a fortification agate. The Scottish stone was self-collected and polished at home in the stone circle's rock tumbler. It went through four stages of grits and polishing with a burnishing stage in between each and to finish. It came out very shiny but a lot of work went into making it shiny.
The Scottish agate has an outer shell in clear chalcedony and blue hued chalcedony. It has grey to light blue bands around a central white quartz pocket. The Scottish crystal also has a patch of orange carnelian chalcedony on the outside shell.
