Smoky Quartz Tumblestone, International and Recycled Stones

This tumblestone is so black that I actually thought it was a basalt or a black chalcedony. If you hold it up to the light, you can see the dark brown of smoky quartz inside it. I then thought it might have been glass, but if it was, they would have done a better job of making it believable by making the colour less cloudy. It may have been heat treated to make it this brown, but I cannot say for sure.

This is a cool pebble that came to us through a rock collection we received in the first half of 2026. It has been washed and dried in a sage-y room.
