This piece of Scottish smoky quartz was collected with rock tumbling in mind. It would look fantastic if it were sliced and polished. This would be a prize for anyone with a lapidary saw. Even those with a hammer and a rock tumbler could benefit from my laziness here.

It's not that I can't cut it and polish it myself, it's that I don't want to. If you have seen pictures of golden healer quartz then this is what it would start life as before it was polished. This will be passable as citrine when shone. Of course it is not real citrine. But it's passable.

We collect this material on our bi-annual trips up north. We used to go more often but I am getting older and lazier these days. This material is getting rarer.
