This piece of Scottish calcite came from a trip to Dumfries and Galloway in January 2024. There are lots of old mine tailings in this area to explore. We went for a rummage and picked up this lovely piece of Scottish calcite.
This crystal feels cool to the touch and has a lovely glassy lustre almost as if it is turning to marble. It has been cleaned with soap and an electric toothbrush and is ready to find its new home.
