Agates are not rare in Scotland but banded agates, or fortification agates, of this consistency are highly sought after. If you collect Scottish stones, rocks, or have a crystal collection, you will want one of these.
I can see at least ten distinct bands. There is no central quartz pocket and instead it has more bands. It is a nice grey and pink.
The outer shell holds another surprise. This banded Agate also has eyes! Well, it is more like one eye and lots of oolites.
This Agate came from a well known rock hunting ground in Ayrshire and was collected this year, 2026, back in summer.
