This amethyst crystal came from South West Scotland, down in Dumfries and Galloway. It was collected in October of 2022. It is quite a long drive South for us to get to this location in the Dumfriesshire hills and so we do not make the trip often. We usually go in winter so that we don't have to fight with the brambles and undergrowth.
This particular piece of Scottish amethyst crystal is a triangular shape. It features a sparkling blanket of amethyst on host rock. The crystals in this cluster are small but beautiful. This is the third time we have attempted to photograph this crystal to upload it to the website. It just does not photograph as nicely as it looks.
