I have absolutely no idea how this rock came to be where it was. This piece of unakite was picked up down in the old lava beds of Ayrshire where it had absolutely no right to be. It was found very recently - in the tail end of 2025. It was brought home, scoffed at, and placed into the rock tumbler where four cycles and polish with soap did not a whole lot to make it shinier.
To be clear, unakite is igneous and more like a granite. The old lava beds of Ayrshire tend to hold basalt and sedimentary chalcedony and quartz nodules. Once in a while, the sea brings you somethign odd. That is the only explanation we have. It is not possible that someone dropped it there as it was completely unpolished when we found it. It has a slight polish now. If you pop it in your handbag, bra, or pocket it will gradually become shinier. The rest of the batch had a lovely polish but it was in with the agates and jaspers, which might explain the roughness.
100% baffled by this rock. I cannot deny what it is. This is a feldspar in pink with epidoite in green - or unakite, as you commonly know it. To crystal healers, unakite is a stone used to bring emotional balance and soothe stress.
