This is a bit of an unusual one for us. Katriona found this in Spain while looking at the rocks on a particularly pebbly shore.
My parents live in Spain and when I visit they are kind enough to show me the rocks. This spot is a favourite place of ours near the Puerto Mazzarron. Mum calls it the washing machine beach because the pebbles roll in and out over each other, making a gentle tumbling noise.
This piece was collected in March 2026 just after I lost kai and ran to my parents for a week. My folks run over to scorland in the motorhome in summer and brought the rocks I collected in January over with them.
The mineral itself appears to be a quartz seam in metamorphic rock. It has the golden shine of mica on the outside. It isn't quite freestanding but you can easily lean it up.
